There is No Break in Car Stuff – Good for Us

Sorry about the different look seems the website folks made some changes I am having to get figured out.  Thanks Ken for this weeks post remember you can go to Kens Corner above to see all his stuff.

Can y’all believe Christmas is heading toward us like a blown 396 cid with its gps locked and loaded on our fannies? Wow. The older I get the harder time I have wrapping my mind around it is almost the end of another year in our lives. The good part is people are great, life is beautiful, business is terrific, and we really do have it made. Check out the list below.

Another GREAT Week Behind Us and Ahead of Us

I think Ken hit the nail on the head and pretty much covered it all. So he has done this weeks post, I always love reading his posts so when ever he writes one it will always trump mine. He is always such a perfectionist on these that I had to leave the little mistake on the Desert Rodders Iceberg event I’m pretty sure it is not at 55 o’clock, Enjoy Thanks Ken

As another week flashes by I wanted to remind everyone of the significant difference Collector Car people make in our communities.

Just briefly we want to thank all those great people who came out very early Saturday morning to say goodbye for now to our old friend Ed Cauble. I don’t think Sharon would have guessed so many coming out to cruise to the mortuary from Sharon’s house. Very inspirational to all those cruising.

The Desert Rodders’ annual Shop-with-a-Cop fundraiser was apparently a huge success with around $4,000 raised thanks to all those participating and especially Don & JoAnn Ipson for allowing the club and invited guests to dine in their beautiful facility which houses one of the best car collections around.

The annual Toys-4-Tots Car Show organized by Desert Sports Management and Car Guys Care was another great show with contributions including at least $2,300 in cash and hundreds of unwrapped new toys. This year there is a change to the method used to distribute the toys instead of many people involved in deliveries the gift receiving families should pick up their gifts. A very good idea in our minds.

Can you all believe it is pushing 2019? 2019! Are you kidding? It was just 1945…. What the heck happened to all those years. Luckily “The Good Old Days” are right now folks. Get out and do stuff because we are running out of time in turbo mode.

The Desert Rodders will also be holding a Toys-4-Tots at their monthly Iceberg Cruise-In this coming Saturday. Be sure to get all your friends to drop a gift by Iceberg Drive Inn between 55 PM and 7 PM

Click right HERE to view the upcoming car show events list for the next 45 days or so.

Tuesday Recurring Monthly Event – Gears, Grub & Mud at Peggy Sue’s Diner Organized by The Over the Hill Gang of Virgin Valley 8 AM Mesquite Time – EVERYONE invited.

Wednesday “Hot Rod Hangout” Cracker Barrel Each Wednesday Year-around Hours Arrive any time after 8:30 AM

Saturday 5 PM to 7 PM. Desert Rodders Iceberg Drive In Show & Shine 200 East St George Blvd.

There is a lot of fun events planned we hope to see you there.

Update Of Our Weekend Update And Clarification

I got a call from Shane after our post below came out seems he has had several calls from folks thinking that both Cars And Coffee and the Toys for Tots event had been cancelled. So lets make it real clear what has and has not been cancelled sorry if it was in question.

The Toys For Tots event at Brio is alive and well IT HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED we will be there with bells on. We will also have our friend JC Hackett the DJ and his crew. And If you CLICK HERE it will take you to the flyer for the event. So rain or shine we will be there collecting toys and donations for Toys For Tots.

Now on to the event that has cancelled Cars And Coffee has been CANCELLED  we don’t want to overwhelm everyone with multiple events in one day. So this is the only event cancelled this weekend so be sure that Cars And Coffee gets cancelled on your calendar.

Here is what our friend JC Hackett says about this weekends fund raiser at Brio. Also Cars and Coffee has been  CANCELLED.

C-C-C- COLD ?? Well, let’s go where its WARMER Come and join us in Southern Utah for a CAR SHOW  (THIS SATURDAY)  Raising funds and TOYS for the kiddies Entry fee is a toy, unwrapped of course, But, just a nice toy to make a child SMILE.  Host Hotel, (and rooms still available..)  Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. George North – Zion  2450 N. Town Center Drive , Washington, Utah 84780.  Call Shane Dastrup 435-619-9770  Check their website … www.stgeorgecarshow.com

Here is a new post by Ken read the story and you will know why the fender photo I quite liked it too. So its on the homepage as well. Don’t forget the Care Guys Care Event at Brio this weekend. Steve

Several years ago a bunch of us cruised up to Springdale for a little Show & Shine at the old Flying Monkey restaurant and parked on the grass. It was a real nice day, as usual. The sky was so great and the mountains shown off the sun’s rays like a heavenly spot. I walked by Steve & Chris Aardema’s 1939 Chevy and saw the reflection of some hills to the east of us and couldn’t resist a reflection photo on their fender. Too bad I’m caught in it also, but the photo now on the top of this site has always been one of my favorites. For years it was identifiable to all those who used DesertCruzin.com for their car events go-to site. I sold that site to Steve and miss seeing this identifier so I threw it up here for a spell for old times sake. I hope you enjoy it also.  Ken.

Cold Weather Can Sure Screw Up Cruisin’

Haven’t had Ken do a post in a while but he has done today’s from Ken’s Corner. Enjoy.

Posted By  on November 15, 2018

I want Spring to come on back here and let’s get this cold stuff behind us. I love all things car related and anything under 100 degrees is what we need. I know whine, snivel, moan, but I am not NOT NOT a cold weather guy. Compliments of the U. S. Army a couple of winters in South Korea will cure anyone wanting cold weather. Then, 1984 to Heber City, UT and had three NAPA Auto Parts stores. One in Heber City, one in Coalville, and one in Morgan. Beautiful country but not fun if you are not a skier, snowmobiler, or just brain dead for about 7 months of the year. Then spring comes rolling in and then back out and then back in and then the ice melts and mud and slush and salt on cars and crapola what a mess. “Whaa, whaa, whaa.”

Saturday Desert Rodders Iceberg Drive In Show & Shine 3rd Saturday 5 PM to 7 PM 200 East St George Blvd.  Everyone is invited. PARTNERING WITH UTAH FOOD BANK – We will have our Food Drive – NOVEMBER 17th  CLICK HERE for more info.

Tuesday –Recurring Monthly Event – Gears, Grub & Mud at Peggy Sue’s Diner Organized by The Over the Hill Gang of Virgin Valley 8 AM Mesquite Time – EVERYONE invited.  CLICK HERE for more info.
