Free Hot Dogs Loom Ever Closer at Car Show

Stan Snow, DATS & Ernie’s Too, is the guy you want to get if we need rain. Just have Stan plan a car show like the one Saturday in Washington and it is sure to either rain or threaten rain (no dancing involved – that’s Carmen’s job).

We hear tell FREE Hot Dogs will bee offered and be available until out of stock.

Come on out to Cotton Days Car Show 4-30-16 and enjoy the day.

Also, in case you haven’t seen it yet, check out THESE pictures from the Cruzin’ Main Car Show event from last Saturday and be sure to stay tuned for more Desert Cruzin’ fun! (Just click “THESE” and it’ll take you right to the page!)

Cotton Days Car Show Saturday

We hope you have all been checking the newspapers, both online & print, listening to the radio ads, and checking good old DesertCruzin for all the latest goings on in Washington to do with the Cotton Days Car Show & Celebration.

DesertCruzin would like to send out a big special thanks to Stan & Carmen Snow, Ernie’s Too, and DATS Trucking for taking the time and having the interest to support the collector car culture in all of the Southern Utah Region and surrounding areas.

However, before you get too focused on Saturday be sure to get out and dust off of your rigs and be sure they are all running well and looking good by coming on out to the regular Wednesday Hot Rod Hangout at Ricardo’s on South Bluff at around 9 AM for breakfast and the Show & Shine, Cruise-in, Car Show, or what have you.

In the meantime we would like to thank Desert Sports Management, Car Guys Care, and Main Street Theaters for the hugely successful Car Show last Saturday supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. We would really like to post some photos! If anyone took some, please send them to either monika@steveshotrodgarage.com –  or ken84770@gmail.com

Thanks for everyone’s support keeping DesertCruzin the most popular spot to check out car show events in the area. Come on by any old time to say, “Howdy” and check out all the changes and cool projects at our shop located at 1021 N 1100 W, St George – Just head over to Sunset Blvd., and 1100 West is the same street as John Deere.

See ya’ll around!

Monika

We also had the Mesquite Airport Show and Shine this last Saturday as well as the Iceberg Cruise In.  If anyone has any pictures they would like to submit to be posted on the site from any of the events, please send them over!

Up this week we have our weekly Hod Rod Hangout at Ricardo’s on Wednesday morning.  There’s always room for more!

Join us this weekend for some more fun!  We have the Brookdale Southgate Senior Living Car Show at 11AM on Saturday, so bring your newly polished beauties out to show off at this event!  Also, come on out and show your support for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Cruzin Main Car Show.  If you’d like to register your vehicle to be a part of the car show, click HERE.  Please note, there is a fee for registration, and all proceeds are to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  If you choose to register your car for the show, you will also receive a free car show t-shirt as well as a goodie bag!

Mesquite Plans Cancelled

Steve Underdahl of the Over the Hill Gang of Virgin Valley just informed us the Airport Thingamadooie is cancelled because of the wind.  The Show and Shine car show is still on from 8:30 til Noon.  The lunch at Los Lupes is also still scheduled.

Thanks, Monika

New Girl Alert!

Hi everyone!  Monika here. 🙂  Just stopping in to introduce myself a bit since I will be working with many of you from here on out! First off, I have to give a huge shout out to Ken for creating this awesome site!  It is my wish to carry on his legacy in the same fashion, keeping each one of you updated on various events and news around the area.  If there’s anything else you’d like to see, just ask!

I’m originally from California, moving to beautiful St. George in December of 2012-it’s much nicer here!  I’ve landed a position working in the office with Steve, the owner of Steve’s Hot Rod Garage here in St. George.  In case some of you are not aware or haven’t heard of us, we are a full service custom shop, specializing in classic cars.  Come by and check us out! Or check us out on the web! Click Here—>>>> Steve’s Hot Rod Garage

I’ve always held an interest in cars, though I admit that I don’t know much about them mechanically speaking.  There’s never been a better time to learn than now!

I look forward to working with everyone.  If there are any questions or anything that I may be able to assist with, please let me know!

*Just a reminder: Tomorrow is the weekly Hot Rod Hangout; I’ll be there as well, so come down and say hello! I would love to meet as many people from the car community as I can. We’ll see you there!

Wingin’ it This Week

Of course, EVERYTHING is with weather cooperating.

Monday:

We were out and about cruising around and ran across a place we had never seen before in Ivins and thought a cool idea would be to get on over Monday Morning for a Flash-Cruise and check out their, “Taco Monday.” Right off the round about in the heart of Ivins is a place called The Icebox & Round About Grill. It is across the street from the Ivins Veterans Home.

It is a very nice looking little building that has indoor and outdoor seating, pretty darn good parking, a drive-thru, and very decent menu (Breakfast, Lunch & ?) including lots of tasty sounding desserts.

Here’s the plan (Right! Who has ever really planned anything around here?):   Meet at Dutchman’s Market (Santa Clara Dr. & N. Canyon View Dr.) at about 10:45 AM and head out going up Canyon View out to Rachel and take that all the way to East Center St. and arrive maybe about 11:15 – 11:30 depending on what time we can get on the road….No Pressure, No Rush, No Calories.

Wednesday:

Hot Rod Hangout

Saturday:

Mesquite Cruise 4-16-16

Over the Hill Gang Mesquite Airport Car Show 4-16-16

Hoodstock Car Show 4-16-16

Iceberg 4-16-16

Saturday is Jammed with Cool Car Show Stuff

Very soon don’t be surprised if you start to see some action on this site from a young lady named Monika. This lady knows more about computers than probably 99.99% of the geezers we have in our local collector car culture. I had the pleasure of speaking with her yesterday and she is right on top of things. She will tell you more about herself when she is ready.

Be sure to take advantage of Saturday and support all those who take their time & raise their stress level organizing things for all of us to take part in.

Of course this is all predicated & dependant upon the weather cooperating for us.

  • Season kick off for Tuacahn Saturday Market with thew NEW hours 10 AM – 1 PM  Tuacahn Sat. Market 2016
  • Cruise to Zion Harley Viet Nam Veterans Lunch from Tuacahn to Zion Harley – Depart Tuacahn 12ish and enjoy the beautiful drive and support our Veterans  Hop-Skip-Jump Cruise 4-9-16
  • Later in the afternoon is the monthly Rebels with a Cause Cruise-In and Show & Shine at Ricardo’s on So. Bluff at 4 PM Rebels with a Cause 4-9-16   Hours will be changing for the May Cruise-In to probably 7 PM – 9 PM as the good old weather warms up……come on global warming!
