Karen’s Hundred Grand Moment

http://www.youtube.coamazing car turned fm/watch?v=IEJJ6h7Or-U

Now, darn it! I got a message from YouTube telling me my video was too shaky, but I have the still shot showing the great 1969 Ford Fairlane with 000000.0 – Every once in a while a moment comes along just too good to pass up. For me this one one of those moments when Karen Pettit asked me if I wanted to take a ride with her when her Fairlane turned a hundred thousand miles, or, in this case, 0000000. I apologize for the cummy video but I am pretty shaky myself without the assistance of rubber and asphalt.

Check out Karen’s Speedo (no pun intended) – Just click on either off the photos and they should enlarge to full screen.

Devil Pups Car Show Saturday & Much More

This coming Saturday is totally packed with Car Shows & Cruise-Ins. It is possible to support more than one event and I certainly hope you will all find that something worth doing. I don’t think many want to miss the Open House/Car Show at SpeedTech 10 AM – 2 PM. But another very worthwhile fundraiser is the Devil Pups Car Show to be held at Ricardo’s Restaurant on South Bluff Street in St. George 11 AM – 4 PM Saturday to support our youth attending a Youth Summer Camp held at Camp Pendleton Marine Base in Southern California.

BTW, rumor has it that Mike & Frank from the hit TV show American Pickers will be attending. They are apparently in the Phoenix area at this time and heading this way and are very supportive of the Devil Pups Program. The Devil Pups would sure like to see a $10 Donation to enter a car since they are giving great prizes and awards, but that is only a suggestion.

This is the way the next week is shaping up:

Saturday          →      Devil Pups Car Show 5-24-14

Saturday          →      Pups Bike Ride 5-24-14

Tuacahn Car Show Big Hit on PERFECT Day

Before I move on to the car show I must take this time to thank all of the wonderful ladies associated with all of our car club groups who are mothers or have found themselves in the role of mothers and for all that women do for us in general. They make our lives more fruitful always. This great day is only dampened by the very sad news of our fellow hot rod enthusiasts Russ and Gerri Boyce losing a son yesterday. Our hearts, prayers, and all supportive thoughts go out to them both in this horrible time in their lives.

About 159 Cars Registered this year for the 9th Annual Tuacahn Car Show organized by the Desert Rodders of Southern Utah and benefiting the Ivans Veterans Home was an absolute success and supported perfectly by Mother Nature and her weather. Desert Cruzin’ would like to thank everyone who participated by bringing their cars out, volunteering, or spectating. A huge big thanks to all of the members of the Desert Rodders, under the leadership of Julian, who volunteered with so much of thier time and effort. The entire show seemed to go off without a single glitch.

Again this year the Car Show was sponsored by DATS Trucking and supported by the Kiwanis Club of Greater St. George. Don, Stan, and Murray deserve appreciation from us all.

Below are just a few photos for you all to enjoy. I have a tough time remembering everyone’s name here, and if you know who any of these great people are please send me their, or your, name.

Below are a few of Don & JoAnn Ipson’s collection they brought out for the show……But, the line up got even better as time went on ↓

Tuacahn Next Up

The Desert Rodders of Southern Utah expect a nice turnout at this year’s 9th Annual “Rockin In The Redrocks” Veterans Home Benefit Car Show at Tuacahn in Ivins, Utah just to the North East of St. George. Aside from this being one of the most beautiful settings in all of the West (world for that matter) the people are friendly, the support for our Veterans is necessary, and the chance for all car collectors to get together is great. Please come out and join us whether you have a car entered or not. Please click on the links below for further information. The show this year is sponsored by DATS Trucking and supported by the Greater St. George Area Kiwanis.

Due to issues with St George City, we cannot do the pre-registration at Bluff St Park prior to the scenic cruise. The cruise will still leave from the park. NOTE: Friday pre-registration will be ONLY at the Iceberg Drive Inn, 5-7 PM
