Hot Rod Hangout at Jazzy’s

Jazzy's on Bluff St. in St. George. Just a "Hangout" for car enthusiasts each Wedenesday morning at 10 AM that goes until people are ready to bug out. People trickle in and out throughout the morning.....we never know who is or isn't going to show up. This is non-club specific and no one here cares what you drive. Stop on by if you are in the area, and there are usually about the same amount of women as there are men (which sure makes it better).

Photos of Carmel Junction Show 8-17-13

Perfect Day

Perfect Day for a car show. To view any of the pohotos in full screen just click on each photo. The rain nailed about everyone on their way home to the South except those heading out early back to Kanab. By the time one of the groups made it to Apple Valley their wipers were being tested to the max. Luckily it only lasted for about 10 minutes.

Carmel Junction

The sky and the mountains were sure cooperating on this day. The show was free to all participants and they even gave out gift cards to be used for shirts, mugs, or whatever you wanted. Our hats off to the folds at the Golf Course and the Thunderbird Inn & Restaurant. They really had their acts together for this show which included live entertainment, great food, and lots of shopping at the vendor’s booths.

In the background to the left of the gentleman walking and near the tree was one of the coolest Rats in the world, and the Pontiac to the right was its maiden car show since being redone by some of the St. George, UT group.

“Hello Fellow Classic Car Enthusiast! My name is Velrina or Rina, as you may see on my signature line. For the past eight months I have been putting together a fundraising car show for my town’s volunteer fire department; as well as joining it. Recently, I have been in contact with Keith whom hosts the car show in Kanab, UT. The reason for this car show; is the need of the department and the thought that the town residents were not as helpful as my husband and I hoped for.

I am hoping that all I come I contact with through this email, will take the time to show up, to participate, to enjoy, to win, and to eat some yummy food: our famous Pronto Pups! (Like a corn dog, only better!) Our event will be held around the infamous Cobble Crest Outdoor Dance Hall circa 1930, in Kanarraville, Utah August 9th and 10th. (Friday and Saturday) Beginning at 10:00 a.m., lasting until 11:00 p.m., with live local bands starting at 7:00 p.m. I look forward to meeting all of you and making this event a long standing tradition. After all, it was my grandfather, along with two other men that got us our fire house in 1987, so here’s to a family tradition! Thank you for your time sincerely yours, Velrina – Velrina M.
